Call for Proposals
The conference welcomes papers which address the
general issues related to the globalization of the English language.
It also solicits papers which look into the more technical and
intricate aspects of the process of teaching and learning, as well
as testing and assessment, and the role technology plays in these
concerns.
The following is a list of topics of interest:
1. Social and educational impact of language testing and
assessment
2. Review of current
language tests
3. Teaching, testing, and language policy
4. The local and the global in teaching and testing
5. Curriculum design and materials development
6. Interfacing: teaching English language through literature
7.
Information technology and ELT
8. Corpora in language teaching and testing
9. Teaching and testing English for specific purposes
10. English, globalization, and the world today
Types of Presentations
|
Research Papers (40 minutes) |
Each paper session will include a
30-minute presentation of theoretical or empirical research
related to the conference theme, followed by 10 minutes of
discussion. All papers must be original and unpublished
work. |

Workshops
(60 minutes) |
Each workshop should focus on the
demonstration of hands-on experiences or techniques related
to the conference theme and should involve active audience
participation. Each session will last 60 minutes, including
15 minutes for discussion. |
|
Panel Discussions (90 minutes) |
Each panel discussion will provide an
opportunity for a group of scholars to explore a
theme-related issue from a range of perspectives. Each
panelist will present his/her perspective during an initial
60-minute presentation section, leaving approximately 30
minutes for extended discussion between the panelists and
the audience. |
Language
Each proposal should be submitted and presented
in English.

We welcome proposals for
papers, workshops and panel discussions written in English.

A presenter may submit at
most ONE individual and ONE joint proposal. |
| 3. |
No more than 3 presenters
are allowed for each paper or workshop. |
| 4. |
All submissions will be
subject to a blind refereeing process. They will be reviewed
according to their relevance to the conference theme,
clarity of presentation, novelty, and theoretical/practical
value. |

Submission Guidelines |
| |
1. |
Presenters need to
complete a Presenter Information Form for each proposal and
submit an abstract. |
| 2. |
The length of the
abstract should not exceed 250 words, and the title should
be limited to 15 words or less. |
| 3. |
The abstract should
not contain the presenter's name or other identifying
information. |
| 4. |
For Research Papers:
The abstract should include a clearly stated topic of
investigation, supported by a rationale for conducting the
research. The methodology should also be outlined clearly,
as well as the nature of actual or potential findings. |
| 5. |
For Workshops:
The abstract should outline the main aim of the workshop,
the practices/techniques to be demonstrated/shared,
and a description of the tasks to be performed during the
workshop. |

For Panel Discussions:
|
|
The panel
organizer needs to submit an abstract that includes an
overview of the issue to be discussed, the rationale for the
choice of panelists,
and a schedule of panelist presentations. |
