The LTTC offers language courses in English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish to students sponsored by government organizations, public institutions, and schools and to individuals over the age of 18. The LTTC has an enrollment of about 2,300 students for each term with 70% studying English, 20% Japanese, and 10% French, German, or Spanish.


Classes sizes are from around 8 to 18 students with an average of 14. Students are placed according to ability. The LTTC employs around 50 experienced Chinese and foreign instructors and there is an emphasis on communicative interaction. In class, teachers employ an interactive communicative approach with an emphasis on language use and cross-cultural understanding.

Ten-week term courses commence four times each year in January, April, July, and October. Classes are held from Monday to Friday at times between 8:00A.M. and 9:00P.M. Classes in English are offered to students who have minimum of high-school level English and classes in other languages are taught from beginner's level. Courses include Listening, Conversation, Reading, Writing, Business English, Research Writing, and Interpretation.

Classes are arranged in the following programs:
Intensive Program 30 hours a week, total 300 hours
Half-Day Program 15 hours a week, total 150 hours
Part-Time Program 5 hours a week, total 50 hours/ 10 hours over every two weeks, total 50 hours
Weekend Program 3 hours each Saturday, total 30 hours
Short-Term Program 10-, 20-, or 30-hour classes, within regular term periods or during term breaks
Special Classes Classes for specific purposes can be arranged upon request.

The LTTC has two multi-media language labs with a total capacity of 109 seats used for both teaching and testing. There is also a library containing local and overseas publications related to language teaching and testing and a variety of periodicals and newspapers.
