LTTC Co-hosted the 2025 Examination Systems and Computerized Testing Technology Conference

The LTTC, together with the Ministry of Examination, the Research Center for Psychological and Educational Testing at NTNU, and the Chinese Association of Psychological Testing, jointly hosted the “2025 Examination Systems and Computerized Testing Technology Conference.” The conference was held from December 12 to 13, 2025, at the Gongguan Campus of NTNU. The theme of the conference was “Civil Service Competency Testing and Assessment Technology.” Two keynote speeches and four Symposiums were arranged, bringing together experts and scholars from government, industry, academia, and research sectors to discuss innovative developments in examination systems and assessment technologies.

Keynote Speech:Ensuring Quality of Automated Diagnostic Feedback for L2 Learning and Assessment: Promises and Challenges
The LTTC invited Professor Yasuyo Sawaki to serve as the keynote speaker. Professor Sawaki is the Dean of the Graduate School of Education at Waseda University in Japan. She is also a current Executive Board Member of the Japan Language Testing Association (JLTA) and Co-President of the Asian Association for Language Assessment (AALA).
Professor Sawaki shared applications of automated diagnostic feedback in helping second language learners understand their own language development, and discussed potential challenges in AI feedback design as well as key factors for ensuring quality.

Symposium D: Applications of AI in Language Learning and Assessment
Dr. Rachel Yi-Fen Wu, LTTC Director General for Research and Development, focused on learning-oriented assessment in the AI era, repositioning the GEPT and the BESTEP assessment. She explained how AI-assisted feedback systems, digital learning platforms, and corpus analysis can be combined to enhance learner engagement and promote collaboration and integration between teaching and assessment, guiding the sustainable integration of technology into language education and assessment design. Her presentation received enthusiastic responses from participants.

Through keynote speeches and symposium discussions, the conference showcased key development directions for public service competency assessments and assessment technologies in the AI era. In the future, the LTTC will continue to deepen cross-disciplinary collaboration and promote the integration of assessment technologies with educational practice, laying a solid foundation for innovation in examination systems and language education.
