LTTC Delegation Shares BESTEP and Teaching Resources at the Fulbright Taiwan Mid-Year Conference
The Language Training & Testing Center (LTTC) was invited to participate in the Fulbright Taiwan Mid-Year Conference, Empowering the Global Classroom, held from January 21 to 23, 2026. The conference brought together nearly 300 U.S. English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) and advisors from schools across all levels in Taiwan. Dr. Jessica Row-whei Wu, Deputy CEO at the LTTC, delivered a keynote speech titled "Assessing English in Taiwan: Locally Grounded, Internationally Aligned." She not only introduced how the BEST Test of English Proficiency (BESTEP) supports bilingual education and the development of core competencies in university EMI classrooms but also illustrated applications of BESTEP resources in academic English teaching.
Anita Chunwen Lin, Director of the Teaching and Training Department at the LTTC, and Vivian Wen-Chi Liu, Chief of the Teaching Division, also participated in the conference, sharing BESTEP-related teaching resources, such as EAP Power Up and sample lesson plans, to facilitate collaboration between foreign and local teachers. Among the resources shared, participants especially appreciated the value and usefulness of BESTEP's learning‑oriented assessment and learner diagnostic feedback design. Teachers from elementary and junior high schools also expressed strong interest in General English Proficiency Test (GEPT) resources. The organizers look forward to inviting the LTTC to deliver related talks and teaching demonstrations in the future.
