Prof. Shuhua Zhou Shares "Methods of Communicating with Learners" in Speech

在數位時代,如何針對日趨多樣的學習者需求,調整課程與教學設計,已成為語言教學重要的課題。為此,LTTC自2018年9月推出一系列語言教學工作坊,邀請具實務經驗的教學工作者,從不同面向探討如何面對並進一步運用班級中存在的「學習者多樣性」(learner diversity)。

本系列第一場工作坊於9月27日於臺灣大學霖澤館舉行,由臺大外文系周樹華副教授以「如何與學習者溝通」為題,分享創造友善學習環境的獨門心法。周教授以學習者觀點出發,從課程設計、評量方式、師生關係、時間管理等各個面向,以實例說明教師如何在教學細節上多一點巧思,即可在無形中激發學習動機。例如,教師可依據學生特質調整活動順序,如此既可照顧到需要較多時間完成任務的學生,也能獎勵快速完成任務的學生,藉此引導學生自發性學習。為了指引學生明確的進步方向,教師宜針對學生課堂表現及作業,給予即時、正向、個別化的評語,並在給予回饋時盡量鼓勵學生。周教授更特別指出,相較於以往強調全外語環境,近年來外語教學界開始反思如何善用學習者的母語,幫助學生更易了解甚至欣賞所學外語,讓母語成為外語學習的利器。此外,周教授亦鼓勵教師們成為digital teachers,利用手機及免費的網路資源,引導學生自主規劃學習內容。

本場講座氣氛熱烈,參加的教師們紛紛表示,周教授娓娓道來每個教學實例都能啟發他們思考如何善用各自教學情境的特質,為學生營造促進語言學習的氛圍與環境。
